These courses have been designed to give you a better understanding of the processes in the Microsoft Office applications.
Course entry requirements: Learners must have basic knowledge on operating a computer
system as well as using generic functions, (i.e. copy, paste, etc.)
Course Duration
Each level of Microsoft Office is a one day (6 hour) course.
Course Assessment
There is an in house assessment, which forms part of the course and is written on the day of your classroom training.
Outline of Courses:
Word (Level 1)
Learn to create and edit documents, i.e. letters, using the basic features of Word.
Word (Level 2)
This course introduces the learner to the advanced formatting of Word
documents. Topics like advanced formatting of text, working with Clip Art, Bullets
and Numbering, Mass Mailing, to name a few, are covered in this module.
Excel (Level 1)
Learn to create spreadsheets as well as using basic formulas (plus, minus, division
and multiplication) for easy and repetitive calculations.
Excel (Level 2)
Learn how
to produce and use spreadsheets for business purposes. This course covers and introduces
the learner to advanced formulas, charts, using outline, what if scenarios, to name
a few.
Powerpoint (Level 1)
Learn how to produce a presentation, format a presentation, Editing a presentation,
check the spelling and grammar of a slide presentation, printing a presentation etc.
Powerpoint (Level 2)
Use the outline feature, proofing a presentation, changing the
background colour and colour schemes, headers and footers, using the slide master,
working with organizational charts, using tables, AutoShapes and WordArt, using Microsoft
Word to create a presentation, using Microsoft Excel to create a chart, inserting
photographs, animating slides, inserting background music and saving to other PowerPoint
formats.

Association of Accounting Technicians
Access (Level 1)
Manage data by using relational databases. Information can be stored, linked, and
managed using a single relational database application and its associated tools.
This course examines the basic database concepts, creating and modifying databases
and their various objects using the Microsoft® Office Access™ 2007 relational database
application.
Access (Level 2)
In this course, you will consider how to maintain data
consistency, how to customize database components, and how to share Access data with
other applications.
